Tyco single-use fuses eye telecom apps

Tyco Electronics' Raychem Circuit Protection unit has introduced the FT600 series of single-use fuses for use in telecom and networking applications.

The fuses provide overcurrent protection to systems and assists equipment manufacturers to comply with North American overcurrent protection requirements, including Telcordia GR-1089, FCC Part 68, and UL60950 3rd edition.

The devices are also claimed by the company to exhibit low temperature-rise performance under sneak current fault events to prevent damage to circuit traces or multilayer boards. The FT600 series includes devices with maximum operating currents of 0.5A, 1.25A, and 2A, and can function up to 85°C.
