Pulse Engineering has introduced three through-hole power inductors for 100W Class D and digital audio amplifiers. The gapped toroid inductors, the PG0036 and PG0058 (without base) and PG0035 (with base), are designed for Zetex's ZXCD1000 and ZXCW8100 chipsets.

Offering low direct-current resistance (DCR) ratings, current ratings up to 11A and what the company termed excellent thermal efficiency, the inductors all meet profile requirements for DVD products. The PG0035 is 15mm high, the PG0036 stands 37.08mm, and the PG0058 is 22.53mm.

Maximum DCR for the PG0035 and PG0036 is 93 milliohms, with a saturation-current rating of 6A and a heating-current rating of 3A. The PG0058 offers a maximum DCR of 12 milliohms, saturation current of 8A, and heating current of 11A.

The standard operating temperature range is -40C to 125C. Available in trays, the PG0035, PG0036, and PG0058 are priced at 30 cents, 26 cents, and 38 cents apiece respectively, in quantities of 100,000. Delivery takes four to six weeks.
