Advantest Corp. has announced pursuance of structural reform efforts aimed at improving efficiency and streamlining operations through the integration of production operations.

Advantest intends to transfer the company's back-end manufacturing division related to automated test equipment (ATE) to a wholly-owned subsidiary, Advanelectron Co. Ltd. The transfer is scheduled for July this year.

In connection with the transfer, a merger between Advanelectron and Advantest Instruments Corp., also a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advantest, has been approved. Advanelectron produces ATE boards, while Advantest's manufacturing division performs the assembly, testing, calibration, inspection, and other tasks during the final production process of ATE. Both also manufacture measuring instruments.
