Fujitsu Siemens Computers, a joint venture computer company of Fujitsu Ltd and Siemens AG, has selected Intersil Corp.'s PRISM GT WLAN chipset to provide connectivity for its latest 802.11g CONNECT2AIR wireless router and PC card.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers chose Intersil's ISL3893 Wireless SoC (WiSOC) to design the new CONNECT2AIR wireless router. The ISL3893 is an integrated AP chip solution that provides both WLAN and Ethernet functionality for PRISM GT-based (802.11g draft standard 8.1) access point or router designs. The ISL3893 WiSOC is expected to eliminate the need for a separate network processor.
