Mentor Graphics emulation solution adopted by Silicon Graphics

Silicon Graphics Inc. has selected Mentor Graphics Corp.'s verification solution package to accelerate their development schedules and mitigate the risk of silicon re-spins. Consisting of access to Mentor's VStation emulation system and consulting services with expertise in advanced emulation methodologies, this verification solution is expected to lower the barriers to entry associated with emulation.

The VStation emulation system provides a complete verification environment for highly complex designs with multiple-use modes in a single platform including the ability to model multiple asynchronous clocks. The VStation emulator's co-modeling technology also offers simulation acceleration in the range of several hundred kilohertz, delivering up to 10,000 times performance increase over software simulation.

Mentor Consulting will work with SGI to develop a customized emulation environment and emulation infrastructure, and will provide an on-site support during the project.
