Trinamic stepper modules simplify motor control design

Trinamic Microchips GmbH's TMCM series of stepper modules for motor control eliminates chip-level design, thus reducing the design time and cost, while simplifying the design of application-specific motor controllers.

The credit card-sized modules are designed for use in lab automation, gaming machines, surveillance cameras, and automatic optical systems applications.

They integrate the necessary electrical components needed for a complete stepper motor control system, as well as a high-level system and IDE software. The modules are offered as single or multi-axis step motor controllers with options such as encoder feedback, CAN interface, integrated microstepping motor drivers, or interfaces to external motor drivers.

To design a complete motor controller, the system designer only needs to input key parameters such as maximum velocity and acceleration. Then the IDE will calculate everything else and save the computed values in the memory of the module.

The programming is done via Trinamic Motion Control Language to allow the system designer to focus on core competencies during the system design and disregard specific problems of the step motor control.
