Shal-Ling Yu, VP of Industrial Global from Yageo Corp. predicts shipments from mainland China will decrease starting Q3 of this year because of the SARS crisis. He stated, "However, because of our industrial global policy, we could shift our assembly lines to other areas per customers' request. Yageo has facilities worldwide and could ship 24 hours a day to customers around the world."

According to Yu, Yageo has seven distributors, 10 manufacturing and assembly centers, and 22 marketing and sales divisions around the world. He added, "In addition, we have R&D centers in the Netherlands, Japan, and Taiwan. The SARS crisis in mainland China and Taiwan does not affect our R&D developments."

However, the company said demand from Asia is important. Yu stated, "Sales from Asia-Pacific account for 33 percent of our total demand, wherein 17 percent of it comes from mainland China."
