Tyco Electronics and Xanoptix have entered into a manufacturing service agreement under which Tyco will manufacture Xanoptix's next-generation optical communication products. The non-exclusive agreement allows Tyco Electronics to manufacture parallel optics transceiver modules based on the design of Xanoptix's XTM product line and utilizing hybrid ICs provided by Xanoptix.

The XTM Series is comprised of parallel optics transceiver modules that offer up to 72 channels terminated in a single MT style fiber-optic connector with up to 245Gbps of aggregate bandwidth.

Kevin Rock, VP, Tyco Electronics' Communications, Computer & Consumer Electronics Products, stated, "This is another example of Tyco Electronics commitment as the world's largest components manufacturer and global technology leader in the fiber-optic industry. We are very excited to begin manufacturing and believe this product family will enhance Tyco Electronics' fiber-optic portfolio."
