The new series of CompactPCI backplanes from Schroff are suitable for 19-inch applications requiring high availability in a compact design.

The backplanes are PICMG 2.0 R3 compliant, with hot-swap capability, and are available from 2 to 8 slot versions. They can be mounted side-by-side using the flat Schroff-bridge located under rear I/O boards. By using extension backplanes, it can accommodate as many as 21 slots.

The product also features Schroff's high capacity ceramic capacitors that provide safe decoupling of high frequency surge voltages common on newer boards, and include a rear I/O on both 6U and 3U versions. The new series operate between the -30C to 70C temperature range.
