Taiwan Thick-Film Ind. Corp. is scheduled to become a part of the Taiwan Stock Exchange Market on June 18, 2003. The company manufactures deflection yokes designed for color CRT monitors. Thick-Film Ind. plans to install three production lines this year for transformers and inverters designed for TFT-LCD monitors, as well as analog/digital boards.

Samples for the company's 2,500V transformers are now available. Company VP Ankuo Shih, noted, "These transformers are called layer-type ones, while the traditional models are called section-type units. We have applied patents from Taiwan, mainland China, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S. These new transformers could be used in inverters for TFT-LCD monitors." Monthly capacity for the high-voltage transformers is set at 50,000 units. High-voltage layer-type transformers, inverters, and A/D boards will be made at the company's Taiwan plant.

In addition, Thick-Film Ind. has entered into the backlight industry last year to increase profits. The backlights are produced at the company's offshore plant in mainland China. Monthly capacity is set at 250,000 units for 15-inch TFT-LCD monitors.
