The AD8627 from Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) is claimed by the company as the first precision JFET amplifier in an SC70 package. The device features true single-supply operation, low power consumption, and lower input bias currents than its predecessor, the AD820. The combination of low power consumption and tiny package make the device suitable for use in portable equipment applications.

The product features a 5MHz bandwidth, 500?V offset voltage, and 1pA input bias current. Its single-supply operation eliminates the need for a negative supply when using a single-supply converter, while the rail-to-rail output and near rail-to-rail input use supply voltages from 5V to 26V.

It is specified for operation over the -40C to 125C temperature range, and is available in 5-lead SC70 and 8-lead SOIC surface-mount packages. The AD8627 is priced at $1.69 per unit in 1,000-piece quantities.
