STMicroelectronics has introduced TSA1005-20 (20Msa/s) and TSA1005-40 (40Msa/s) dual-channel 10-bit ADCs that are suitable for applications such as medical imaging, portable instrumentation, high-speed data acquisition, and I/Q signal processing.
The ADCs offer excellent dynamic performance while consuming 100mW (TSA1005-200) and 200mW (TSA1005-40). Through a polarization pin, it is possible to precisely adjust power consumption against sampling frequency.
The parts are built in 0.25?m CMOS technology. They will run from a 2.5V supply voltage and have 2.5V/3.3V-compatible I/Os.
The converters use a pipelined architecture to provide high linearity. They feature an SNR of 59.8dB and a SINAD of 57.5 at 40Msa/s. Each channel has a built-in voltage reference to simplify circuit design, although an external reference can also be used. The two channels share a common clock. |
