Fujitsu MCP features burst-mode functionality

Fujitsu Ltd announced the development of the MB84SR6H5K5K1 multi-chip package (MCP) that combines Mobile Fast Cycle RAM (FCRAM), and burst-mode flash memory that is targeted towards next-generation mobile phones and other high-performance mobile applications.

The MCP includes one 128Mb NOR-type flash memory and two 64Mb Mobile FCRAM chips compliant with the Common Specification for Mobile RAM (COSMORAM). Burst-mode access times are 11ns for flash memories and 12ns for Mobile FCRAMs (at 66MHz).

Operating on 1.8V, the flash memory requires a current of 10?A, while the Mobile FCRAM requires a 120?A of standby current. The Mobile FCRAM also includes a power-down mode that reduces its power requirements to 10?A max.

The MCP is offered in a 9-by-12-by-1.4mm 115-pin FBGA package, and operates from

-30C to 85C. They are priced at ?15,000 ($127 at $1:?117.803), excluding tax.
