Eldon, Conexant partner on DTV adapter platform

U.K.-based electronics design firm Eldon Technology Ltd, and Conexant Systems Inc. have collaborated to deliver a complete terrestrial digital video broadcast (DVB-T) design platform for Freeview digital TV (DTV) receiver converters.

Freeview is a free DTV receiver service that provides up to 30 TV receiver and radio channels, as well as various interactive services in the U.K. The reference platform is based on existing Conexant ICs and Eldon's Elgist software suite.

The new platform includes Conexant's CX22490 interactive STB decoder and CX22702 DVB-T demodulator ICs. The CX22490 is designed for STBs on interactive multi-channel TV receiver networks that require both advanced performance and low cost.
