Kuraray to increase output of opto-screens for RPTVs

Kuraray Co. has announced that they have decided to expand the production of opto-screens for rear-projection TV receivers (RPTVs) at its Nakajo Plant in Japan. Opto-screens consist of Fresnel lens sheets which converge scattered light and lenticular lens sheets, ensuring a uniform distribution of light and improve the contrast of the TV receiver picture.

Annual production capacity at the plant is set to be raised from 3 million sheets to 4.8 million. Operation of the additional facilities is scheduled to start in April 2004.
