Ansoft releases Hydraulic Model Library for Simplorer

Ansoft Corp. has announced that a Hydraulic Model Library is available for Simplorer that customizes it for hydraulic and electro-hydraulic system designs typically found in the automotive, heavy equipment, and aerospace industries.

The library includes valves, sources, orifices, accumulators, actuators, switches, passive elements and more. Design engineers can use it to model systems incorporating electrical drivers, actuators, and hydro-mechanical loads found in automatic transmissions, power trains, and heavy equipment.

The Hydraulics Library also provides a set of predefined hydraulic models that can be combined easily with mechanical and electrical components, providing a comprehensive model set for electromechanical, hydro-mechanical, and electro-hydraulic applications. For 1D modeling of hydraulic systems, the library provides a variety of basic hydraulic building blocks. All basic models are implemented as C-Code, providing a variety of nonlinear effects combined with high simulation speed.

The design of automatic transmission systems requires the combination of elements from multiple domains. The solenoid as an electromechanical device drives a plunger that is connected to the valve. The combination of a Maxwell-based lumped parameter solenoid model with mechanical elements from Simplorer's library and the direct interconnection of the position node with the hydraulic model provide a complete picture of the electromechanical/hydraulic system.

The Hydraulic Model Library is priced at $3,900.
