CSR, Barcoda to Bluetooth-enable Microvision scanner

Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) and Baracoda have signed an exclusive supply agreement with Microvision Inc. that will enable the latter to globally distribute a new Bluetooth-enabled bar code scanner, the Flic Cordless handheld laser bar code scanner.

Microvision will be using Baracoda's SmartModule to Bluetooth-enable its Flic laser bar code scanner. The SmartModule, which is expected to speed up the Bluetooth integration of hardware devices, is developed with CSR's BlueCore - an integrated RF, baseband microcontroller, microprocessor, and memory on a single chip.
