NJR volume control features input selector

New Japan Radio (NJR) Co. Ltd has started sample shipments of its NJW1153 six-channel electronic volume control IC that is suitable for multi-channel audio systems such as A/V amplifiers and DVD receivers.

The product uses a ladder resistor volume which is characterized by low noise and reduced distortion, and incorporates an input selector. It can handle eight input sources of two channels and two sources of the 5.1-channel system.

Including features such as tone control, I/O gain control, REC output, and multi-channel inputs, the IC feature an operating voltage from 4.5V to 7.5V and volume control of 0dB to -100dB. All internal status and variables are controlled by a 3-wired interface.

Offered in QFP64 package, the NJW1153 is available for $5.
