STMicro multiplexers target automotive systems

STMicroelectronics has introduced the M74HC4851, a single eight-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer and the M74HC4852, a dual four-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer that are suitable for use in automotive and industrial applications.

The M74HC4851 is pin-compatible with the standard HC4051 and MC14051, and features three binary control inputs to select one of eight channels to be connected to the output and an Inhibit input to disable all channels. The M74HC4852 is pin-compatible with the standard HC4052 and MC14052, and features two binary control inputs to select one of four channels to be connected to the output and an Inhibit input to disable all channels. All device I/Os are protected against static discharge up to 2kV.

Featuring injection current cross-coupling of <1mV/1mA, the products' operating supply voltage is 2V to 6V with power dissipation of 2?A at 25°C. Both parts are available in SO-16 and TSSOP16 packages.
