LeCroy oscilloscope, SDA feature 20GSps sampling rates

The 8620A oscilloscope and SDA6020 serial data analyzer (SDA) from LeCroy Corp. are based on the company's WaveMaster digital oscilloscope (DSO) platform and feature a real-time sampling rate of 20GSps per channel.

Designed for evaluating the physical layer characteristics of both optical and electrical serial data signals up to 3.5Gbps, the 8620A oscilloscope, when used in conjunction with the 7.5GHz D600 active differential probe, offers a 6GHz system bandwidth. The product also allows users to create customized parameter measurements or waveform math functions and insert them into the DSO's user interface.

The SDA6020 performs measurements on high-speed serial data streams according to fiber channel, GbE, InfiniBand, IEEE 1394, and SONET/SDH formats and standards. The analyzer can conduct a host of measurements on serial data signals, including eye pattern, jitter and bit error rate.

Both products have a 5GHz trigger bandwidth, and has a clock accuracy of 1ppm, sample rate and delay time accuracy >1ppm, and trigger jitter of <2.5ps. Standard equipment includes four Prolink adapter SMA, two Prolink BNC adapter, an SVGA touchscreen, a CD-ROM drive, protective front cover, optical 3 button wheel mouse, and warranty.
