The HV632 from Supertex Inc. is an 80V, 32-channel driver IC with 256 gray-shades and is designed for flat-panel displays (FPDs) such as polymer liquid crystal (PLC), vacuum fluorescent (VF), and electrofluorescent and field emission displays. It also suits applications requiring high data rates.

Using the company's HVCMOS technology, the product features full integration of low voltage CMOS logic to support the pulse width modulation (PWM) gray-shading conversion for higher display resolutions.

It also provides an 8-bit data bus for fast moving display image and for fine 256-level gray-scale resolution of each display pixel. Brian Hedayati, Director of Supertex Marketing, said, "Additionally, the HV632 reduces overall component count, while saving space, power dissipation, heat generation, and cost."

The HV632PG is priced at $16.22 each in 1,000-unit quantities with lead time of 4 to 6 weeks.
