Fujitsu Siemens Computers servers power BSkyB solution

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, a joint venture of Fujitsu Ltd and Siemens AG, and a supplier of business critical computing solutions, has received an IT infrastructure order for enterprise servers from British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB).

BSkyB has selected Fujitsu Siemens' PRIMEPOWER Solaris-based UNIX servers and PRIMERGY Intel-based systems to power its latest Customer Relationship Management solution that will support the company's 6.7 million subscribers across the U.K. and Ireland. Fujitsu Siemens will install its PRIMEPOWER PW2000 and PW2500 servers with 36 processors each at BSkyB's customer contact centers in Livingston and Dunfermline.
