Sunonwealth predicts growth in cooling fan industry

Sunonwealth Electric Machine Ind. Co. said that the cooling fan industry will grow by 15 to 20 percent this year. Resi Hsieh, sales manager, said, "The growth will come from dc models. AC cooling fans account for only 10 percent of production."

The company is inclined in developing small, high-speed cooling fans. Sunonwealth's smallest dc cooling fan, measuring 6-by-6mm, is designed for use in mobile phones. "We call these models mighty mini-fans. Mass production is set to begin before year-end," noted Hsieh. Another new product from Sunonwealth is a dust-proof cooling fan featuring a magnetic levitation device. It has a service life of 50,000h and generates 4dB to 5dB less noise compared to previous models.
