Omron optical devices target metro, access networks

Omron Corp. has released the P1S22A, P1L12A, P1X4A, and P1S18A devices that integrate micro lens array (MLA) and actuator technologies, target access networks, metro networks, and interconnection.

The P1S22A single-mode type 2x2 optical switch has a 2.5dB insertion loss and 1,525nm to 1,565nm range. With a 5Vdc drive pressure when switching, the product measures 27-by-12-by-8mm, and is priced at $204.

The P1L12A multi-mode type micro lens array features a 2dB insertion loss and 1x12 lens arrangement in a 250?m pitch. Suitable for multi-channel link optical transmission and optical receiving devices, the micro lens measures 6.4-by-2.5-by-0.55mm, and is available for $204.

The P1X 4A 4-ch CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer is constructed of an MLA and a subminiature dielectric multi-layer filter, measures 14.5-by-7.2-by-4.7mm, and has 2.5dB insertion loss. With 1,510-, 1,530-, 1,550-, and 1,570nm channel wavelengths, the device is priced at $297.

The P1S18A single-mode type 1x8 optical switch has an insertion loss of 3dB, crosstalk of 55dB, and return loss of 35dB. With a switching time of 15s, it is equipped with a self-maintaining functionality, and features a 5Vdc drive pressure. With a 44-by-16-by-14-8.5mm dimension, the product is available for $297.
