Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has taken part of the ZigBee Alliance as a member of the ZigBee board of directors and a promoter of the organization.

The ZigBee Alliance is an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard. Samsung joins other alliance members including Honeywell, Invensys, Motorola, Mitsubishi Electric Corp., and Philips.

"We are pleased to be a part of the great effort by the ZigBee Alliance," said Bryan K.S. Chang, principal engineer, i-Networking Lab, Samsung Electronics. "We chose to be a part of the ZigBee Alliance because we believe in the standard they are creating and want to be a one of the leaders of the process.
