C&D Technologies Inc. has extended its range of low-profile, high-efficiency non-isolated dc-dc converters with the release of the 10W device that incorporates shutdown and voltage trimming functionalities.

Suitable for embedded computing applications, the NGA10 converters offer efficiencies up to 95 percent, feature high-efficiency conversion and built-in short circuit protection, and are based on a high-efficiency synchronous rectification design that can deliver the full output power rating at temperatures up to 85C without external heatsinks.

Output voltage options for the NGA10 converters are 1.8-, 2.5-, 3.3-, and 5V with nominal output ripple rated at 40mVpp. Power dissipation is 1.1W, while input voltage range is from 4.75V to 28V. Line and load regulation for the modules are 0.2 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.

Supplied in a SIP package and measuring 21.49-by-20.96-by-5.60mm, the converters offer fast transient response levels and use a high switching frequency of 300kHz. Pricing for the single-output converters begins at $13.80 per device in OEM quantities.
