Xicor Inc. has released its first family of twin-wiper digitally controlled potentiometers that adds the versatility of two independent wiper voltages per potentiometer. The twin-wiper structure of the X9455 can be used for multiple reference generation, window comparator applications, feedback networks, and differential voltage applications.

Combining two separate 256-tap twin-wiper potentiometers along with the flexibility of a dual interface, the potentiometers allow efficient recalibration between the design lab and production floor. The device is offered in 2.8-, 10-, 50-, and 100 kiloohm options, and is available in 14-lead TSSOP packaging.

Jim Pflasterer, director of applications, said, "The twin-wiper DCP structure and tight linearity of the X9455 make it an ideal solution for common mode biasing in differential voltage applications. The potentiometer provides accurate balance between the relative wiper voltages in a cost-effective solution."

The X9455 is priced at $3.50 for 1,000 unit quantities.
