Cree acquires silicon carbide patents from ABB

Cree Inc. has purchased portfolio of patents and patent applications relating to silicon carbide (SiC) technology from ABB Research Ltd. The technology covered by the patents ranges from epitaxial growth technology to device and circuit-level technology.
The portfolio includes 44 U.S. patents and patent applications together with corresponding international patents and applications. In addition, the agreement calls for the transfer of certain know-how related to the subject technology. |
