Verisity Ltd, the automated testbench generation tool vendor, and Aptix said that Aptix will integrate its System Explorer hardware accelerator with Verisity's eCelerator testbench tool.

The companies said Aptix would integrate the two products as a member of Verisity's Interoperability Partners (VIP) program. Verisity's eCelerator speeds automation of the Specman Elite verification process.

The companies said combining eCelerator and the System Explorer will further increase verification performance while providing a single simulation environment through prototyping.

Integration with eCelerator means engineers will be able to synthesize and accelerate their testbenches written in the e verification language onto System Explorer.

The companies said Specman Elite users can check highly active portions of an e testbench, including bus functional models, monitors, data checkers, assertion checkers, and error messaging.

The integration also provides the capability to apply emulation earlier in the design process to perform system-level verification and ensure that designs work in the system environment before committing to silicon.

The verification process can also be automated since users would retain all Specman Elite capabilities, including automatic generation of tests, data and assertion checking as well as functional coverage analysis, the companies claim.
