NEC sets Agilent tools as RFIC design standard

NEC Compound Semiconductor Devices Ltd has selected Agilent Technologies Inc.'s RF and mixed-signal design software tools as its new standard for mobile communications RFIC development. Agilent's RF Design Environment (RFDE) will provide NEC designers with circuit simulation and system design.

Agilent RFDE is an RF EDA software environment that integrates RF simulation technologies from Agilent Advanced Design System (ADS) into Cadence Design's analog and mixed-signal design flow. RFDE is a direct result of the Agilent alliance with Cadence, giving analog and RF engineers access to frequency-domain simulation technology from within the Cadence environment.
