EMS Satellite Network Inc., a provider of wireless, satellite and defense solutions, has selected Hifn's security processors for its EMS Series 2000 and 3000 subscriber terminals. EMS Satellite Networks Interactive Terminals provide two-way broadband access to homes and businesses within the satellite footprint, and are fully compliant with the DVB-RCS open standard for broadband satellite networks.

The Hifn 7902 security processor used in the EMS Satellite Terminals performs multi-algorithm encryption acceleration on a single chip, with an on-board IKE (Internet Key Exchange) processor for public key operations.

"We chose the Hifn processors because they add additional functionality and increase the speed at which data is compressed and encrypted," said Walter Reichert, VP, EMS Satellite Networks. "Hifn's solution removes the security performance penalty, allowing our users to take full advantage of their high-speed satellite broadband connection."
