Hill-Rom adopts Visonic wireless technologies

Hill-Rom Services Inc. has signed a supply agreement with Visonic Technologies Americas Inc. and Elpas Electro-Optic Systems Ltd. The agreement provides Hill-Rom with access to Visonic wireless locating technology to incorporate into new products and services. Hill-Rom is a provider comprehensive solutions that help caregivers deliver effective care to their patients in acute care, long term care, and home care environments.

Initially, the Visonic technology will support Hill-Rom's COMLinx-LPMTM wireless locating system, scheduled for availability in early 2004.

"Much like GPS (global positioning systems) technology, when it is connected to the right applications, such as our nurse communications system, wireless locating will create significant opportunities to help our customers improve patient throughput, staff efficiency, and asset utilization."
