Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas and Logic Product Development (Logic) have released the Zoom Starter Development Kit (SDK) for Sharp's BlueStreak LH7A400 32-bit system-on-chip (SoC).

The LH7A400 Zoom SDK is a hardware and software solution that enables developers to immediately begin developing applications and evaluating the functionality of the Sharp LH7A400 SoC and Card Engine.

The SDK simplifies development by providing production quality software (device drivers, bootloader) and Binary board support packages for Windows CE and Linux. It also provides optional Display Kits that can be connected to the development kit, and expansion headers that provide easy access to all of the Card Engine peripherals for application development, prototyping, and debugging.

A product-ready embedded computing module, the device offers the essential features for handheld and embedded networking applications in the industrial, consumer, and media markets. The Card Engine comes standard with the following hardware: LH7A400 ARM922T SoC running at 200MHz, on board Flash, SDRAM, touchscreen controller, 10/100 Base T Ethernet controller, audio codec, Compactflash, and MCU-specific peripherals.

The Zoom Starter Development Kit is available at a suggested resale price of $349.
