SuperH Inc., a supplier of multimedia RISC CPU cores, has become a member of the IBM Blue Logic IP Collaboration Program.

The program facilitates first-time-success design and rapid time-to-market of advanced SoC products, and creates a close working relationship between IBM and select third-party semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) providers. With the IBM Blue Logic IP Program, third-party IP cores are available for licensing directly from the IBM program members to integrate into ASICs manufactured by IBM.

SuperH's cores will give IBM customers' access to IP that is used in many car information systems, STBs, and residential gateway products, among many other types of embedded systems. The first SuperH core that will be available in the program is the SH4-MPU, a dual issue integer RISC CPU core with a single cycle MAC.
