Texas Instruments Inc. has introduced what it claims is the highest output power mono Class-AB audio amplifier in the market today. Suitable for cellphones, smart phones and PDAs, the TPA6211A1 also cuts board space and gives designers flexibility.

Offering over 340mW of power per mm?, the audio power amplifier is capable of delivering 3.1W of power into a 3-ohm load at 10 percent THD. The device features a supply current of 4mA at 5V, shutdown control of 0.01, PSRR of -85dB, and CMRR of -63dB that eliminates two input coupling capacitors.

With a fully differential design that reduces RF rectification, the product comes in a 3-by-3mm QFN package and a 3-by-5mm MSOP package. The TPA6211A1 is available with a suggested resale pricing of 55 cents in 1,000-unit quantities.
