Crystal oscillator ICs feature low-voltage operation

Nippon Precision Circuits (NPC) Inc. has started mass production of its CF5034 1.8V crystal oscillator ICs. To produce the 1.8V crystal oscillator, the company used a BiCMOS processing technology which permits high-frequency oscillation with reduced voltage, and contributes to the reduction of power consumption and heat generated inside the equipment.

Featuring an operating power supply of 1.6V to 3.6V, the CF5035 permits high-frequency operation with various power supplies. And because of the adoption of the BiCMOS process, the high-frequency bipolar oscillation circuit and the high-frequency CMOS buffer output circuit could be integrated into a single chip. Sample cost is $3.75 apiece.
