Intersil Corp. has introduced two fixed-gain amplifiers that are capable of operating at gains of 1, -1, and 2. The Elantec EL510X family includes the EL5106, a 350MHz bandwidth, 4,000V/?s slew rate device, and the EL5108, a 450MHz bandwidth, 6,000V/?s slew rate amplifier.

The products incorporate an enable and disable function to reduce the supply current to 14?A per amplifier. Suitable for use in battery-powered equipment such as handheld devices, video amplifiers, cable drivers, RGB amplifiers, test and instrumentation equipment, and current-to-voltage converters, the EL5106 has a supply current of 1.5mA while the EL5108 has a supply current of 3.5mA.

Sameer Vuyyuru, director of marketing for video and op-amps, said, "Our new EL510X family of single current feedback amplifiers is a perfect fit for driving video loads, buffering, and data acquisition applications. Gain accuracy of 1 percent ensures reliability. The EL5108, in addition, represents the fastest fixed-gain amplifier currently available in the industry."

Both offered in 8-pin SO and 6-pin SOT-23 packages, the EL5106 is available for 68 cents while the EL5108 is priced at $1.23.
