Murata tuners eye terrestrial digital broadcasting

Murata Mfg Co. Ltd has started mass production of its tuners that are adaptable to the country-specific terrestrial digital broadcasting standards of Japan, the U.S., and European countries.

The TUMUDF series designed for the Japanese market measures 90-by-41-by-12mm, and are capable of receiving the full bandwidth. A low-loss splitter circuit is also built in to achieve the high-sensitivity characteristics required.

The TUMUDF destined for the United States employs the company's high-frequency circuit technology to features a size of 110-by-41-by-12mm, and incorporates a demodulation function (8-VSB, 64/256-QAM, QPSK), and the required out-of-band circuit.

TUMUDT products for Europe measures 50-by-41-by-12mm, reducing volume to approximately 60 percent of previous products. It also incorporates a low-loss splitter circuit to achieve high-sensitivity characteristics.
