DNP Photomask opens new plant with STMicro

DNP Photomask Europe S.p.A., a company of Dai Nippon Printing Co. of Japan, in partnership with STMicroelectronics, has officially opened a plant in Italy. The new facility will manufacture high-end photomasks.

STMicroelectronics and DNP will be cooperating on the development of advanced photomask products, which are integrated into STMicroelectronics' wafer fabrication processes.

The new 4,600 square-meter plant is expected to have a monthly production output of 250-450 photomasks. Mass production of electron beam machine-based photomasks is slated to start by December 2003.
