Altera Corp. and Gidel have announced the availability of Gidel's stackable PROCSuperStar Stratix 80 development board for reconfigurable system development. Available with up to three Stratix EP1S80 FPGAs on each board, the product includes all the necessary hardware to build large reconfigurable systems.

With the ability to stack up to seven boards for a total of 21 Stratix devices, the development system is suitable for use in high-bandwidth, high-density applications such as SoC rapid prototyping, super computing, DSP, imaging, machine vision, video processing, aerospace, and military systems.

Reuven Weintraub, president and CEO of Gidel, said, "With our PROCSuperStar Stratix 80 board, customers can immediately begin the rapid prototyping of their high-bandwidth, high-density applications."
