Motorola Commercial, Government, and Industrial Solutions Sector (CGISS), a provider of integrated radio communications and information solutions, announced that Dorset Police has chosen a full Motorola solution for their officers when they go live on the UK Airwave Network in early 2004. The radios will be deployed by NTL on behalf of Dorset Police as their managed service provider.

In addition to using Motorola MTM700 mobile radios, Dorset's officers will also be using Motorola's latest Tetra handportable, the MTH650. Motorola designed the MTH650 to incorporate a number of critical user requirements including the flexibility to wear the terminal higher up on a uniform as well as on the belt, which was a key factor in Dorset's selection process. The MTH650's weight and size also made it suitable for portage on a uniform at chest height.
