TAEC LCD modules feature reverse-scan capability

Expanding its selection of active matrix TFT LCDs, Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC) has announced the availability of two wide-viewing-angle, high-brightness TFT LCDs developed by Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Co. Ltd (TMD).

The LTD121GA0S is a 12.1-inch XGA (1024 x 768) module that suits industrial applications. It provides a luminance of 350cd/m? and a contrast ratio of 250:1. Targeted for high-end 12.1-inch applications that require higher resolution and brightness, the device features a viewing angle of 100 in the vertical direction and 120 in the horizontal direction. The LCD also features a dimension of 278.3-by-209-by-11.5mm, and is mechanically compatible with TMD's 12.1-inch SVGA displays - LTM12C289 (250cd/m?) and LTM12C285 (500cd/m?).

Claimed by the company as offering the smallest outline dimensions available in the market for a 10.4-inch LCD module for industrial applications, the LTD104C11S VGA (640 x 480) device features a luminance of 400cd/m? with a contrast ratio of approximately 500:1. Offering a viewing angle of 120C in the vertical direction and 140C in the horizontal direction, the module has a 238.5-by-177.5-by-11.5mm profile.

The displays feature reverse-scan capability, which enables customers to select either a normal scan or reverse scan to obtain the best intended image, depending on whether the mounted display will be viewed typically from above or below.

Each of new modules feature a CCFL backlighting system with two long-life replaceable lamps to ensure long-term reliability and minimal service and repair costs. Operating temperature range is 0C to 60C for the LTD121GA0S, and -10C to 65C for the LTD104C11S.
