Tamron adopts Corning optical lens technology

Tamron Co. Ltd has concluded a non-exclusive license agreement with Corning Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Tamron takes license to a portfolio of Corning patents regarding molded glass components used in digital still cameras, display systems and other products where optical lens systems are required.

Tamron is a Japan-based manufacturer of optics, serving the needs of various layers of users from general consumers, commercial/industrial to OEM/ODM. Among its products include 35MM and CCTV lenses, and cameras.
