STMicroelectronics has introduced a pair of SPDT analog switches whose packaging and low insertion losses make them suitable for use in consumer products including audio and video devices, cellphones, notebook PCs, PDAs and other portable instrumentation.

The STG3699 is a quad SPDT analog switch while the STG3684 is a dual SPDT analog switch. With multiple "Single Pole Dual Trough" cells, the devices can work in bi-directional mode using 1.8V compatible digital control pins. It features a <0.5 ohm on-resistance that reduces distortion to a minimum, supply voltages of between 1.65V and 3.6V, and power consumption of <1A.

Housed in a QFN package that measures 3-by-3mm, the switches support high currents of up to 500mA 10 percent duty cycle. All inputs and outputs are protected against static discharge and transient excess voltages.
