Cirrus Logic Inc. has expanded its portfolio of analog and mixed-signal audio components with the release of the CS4351 DAC that comes with integrated line drivers to allow it to deliver premium audio quality and analog performance without costly off-chip circuitry.
Targeted for use in consumer products such as DVD players, recorders, professional audio products and automotive audio systems, the DAC simplifies design, reduces system and development costs and accelerates time to market for manufacturers of audio electronics.
The CS4351 integrates the amplifier and filter stages, a process required to achieve the 2Vrms line level output signal found in most consumer electronics. This integration allows the product to directly drive the outputs of audio products to allow system designers to save PCB space and reduce the effort required to design the analog output section of their products.
Using a multi-bit Delta-Sigma architecture, the DAC operates from a 9V or 12V power supply and offers digital volume control with half dB step sizes and patented Popguard technology for control of clicks and pops during power cycling. It achieves dynamic range performance of 108dB and support for sample rates up to 192kHz.
Available in a 20-pin lead-free TSSOP package, it is priced at $1.60 for 10,000-piece quantities. |
