Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) and Kemet Corp. have announced their plan to further enhance their technical and manufacturing alliances by expanding their co-manufacturing agreement regarding solid conductive polymer aluminum surface-mount capacitors.
As part of the expanded agreement, both companies will continue to market and sell aluminum polymer capacitors to their respective customers and market areas. SDK will continue to market under the trade name SDK-CAP and KEM under the trade name AO-CAP. No disruptions of service or quality are anticipated, except for the X case size products, which will be temporarily discontinued until mid-2004.
In connection with the above agreement, SDK has decided to build a second production line at its site in Oyama, Tochigi Prefecture in Japan. The new line, with capacity to produce eight million capacitors a month, will start operation in July 2004. |
