Intersil rolls out six new op amps

Intersil Corp. has expanded its high-speed operational amplifier portfolio with the release of six rail-to-rail output amplifiers that include dual and quad high-speed rail-to-rail output amplifiers. The Elantec EL8403 is claimed by the company as the industry's fastest quad rail-to-rail output amplifier. At 5.6mA per channel, the devices consume minimal power and feature a 100mV swing-to-rail performance with inputs that reach below ground.

The EL8401 is a lower speed version that operates at 200MHz bandwidth and consumes 2mA per channel. Both of these devices include an option for a chip disable functionality, which enables further power savings.

The EL8202, EL8203 and EL8403 feature a -3dB bandwidth of 500MHz, 600V/?s slew rate, inputs -0.15V below negative rail, and 3V to 5.5V single supply operation. The EL8200, EL8201 and EL8401 devices feature -3dB bandwidth of 200MHz, 200V/?s slew rate, -0.15V below negative rail inputs, and 3V to 5.5V single supply operation.

Sameer Vuyyuru, director of marketing for video and op amps, said, "Our new EL840x family of quad rail-to-rail amplifiers are ideal for use as dual S-Video amplifiers or high density A/D buffers. The EL820x family of dual rail-to-rail amplifiers offers single channel S-Video handling capability very economically for the system designer."

The EL8403 is priced at $2.89 in both QSOP16 and SO14 packages, the EL8401 is available for $1.79 in both QSOP16 and SO14 packages, the EL8200 and EL8201 duals are priced at 78 cents and $1.49 for MSOP10 and SO8 packages, respectively, and the higher bandwidth versions EL8202 and EL8203 are available for $1.49.
