NTT DoCoMo Inc. has announced that it will market what it claims is the first FOMA CompactFlash card that will enable 3G videophone and other wireless data communications via PCs and PDAs.

Offering high-speed packet transmissions of up to 384Kbps for downlinks, 64Kbps for uplinks and 64Kbps for circuit-switched data transmissions, the P2402 flash memory card will enable videophone calls between PCs and devices such as FOMA handsets, Lookwalk P751v PHS videophones, P-in Free series PHS data card-equipped devices and ISDN fixed line videophones.

A videophone software and a USB compatible web camera and headset are both necessary. The CompactFlash card is also compatible with PCs that do not have CF slots by using the standard accessory adopter for PC connections.
