Spediant Systems announced that Communications Supply Service Association (CSSA), a member-owned organization comprised of independent U.S. telephone companies, has selected Spediant's Multi-Loop DSL equipment to stock and distribute to its member companies.

CSSA will resell Spediant's EML 8000 system to its 368 member companies in 44 states. The association is set up as a large network of independent telcos designed to give its members collective access to products and services. Based on Multi-Loop DSL technology, the EML 8000 system aggregates the bandwidth of up to eight copper pairs, enabling capacity ranging from 4 to 5mbps for faster Internet access, to well beyond 10 Mbps for native-rate, wide area Ethernet networking. With it, carriers can provide fiber-like bandwidth to business customers over their existing copper network, without the need to install fiber.

The Spediant EML 8000 system combines a symmetric, high-density DSL modem with an inverse multiplexer that can support multiple copper pairs, treating the multiple pairs as a logical bundle. The system has the intelligence to make decisions about dynamic bandwidth allocations during changing link conditions. It also offers simultaneous support for voice and data traffic, full spectrum compatibility, and a powerful element management system.
