CML Microcircuits Ltd has released a custom evaluation, demonstration and investigation kit that brings speed and versatility to the company's PMR and 'Leisure-Radio' ICs - the CMX881, CMX882 and CMX883.

Supplied as PCB running via a parallel port from a Windows PC, the EV8810 kit allows total access to all of the target device's on-chip read, write and program registers. All chip functions including signal modes, frequencies, gains and routing can be addressed, investigated and adjusted using the custom graphic interface running on the PC. Evaluation settings may be saved for reloading.

Controlled by an on-board re-programmable PIC ?Controller, the kit is supplied with evaluation firmware, interface and evaluation software and PIC reprogramming software. The reprogramming method will allow fast reprogramming via the parallel interface. Using the companion user-manual and the relevant IC's technical datasheet, the designer can understand and manipulate the features and functions of each CMX product.

The EV8810 requires two supply voltages for both PIC and CMX evaluation environments, both of which can be supplied externally from a dual rail or two single rail, supplies.
